Jamaica's Reggae Girlz are back in the FIFA World Cup! This summer in Australia and New Zealand they will be looking to take on new heights and go farther than they have before. Their collective talent combined with hard work, and the unwavering support of their team of doctors, physical therapists, nutritionists and so many others is what has led them to this historical achievement in Jamaican football but also football in the Caribbean.
A small group of supporters has created the Reggae Girlz Rise Up fundraiser to which the Jamaica Football Federation has voiced their appreciation and support. Anyone can contribute to this mission to provide additional assistance for the expense of getting the whole team (not just the players) to Australia and New Zealand.
As shared by Havana Solaun's mother, the Reggae Girlz success has been supported by the talented entourage of staff members consisting of coaches, therapists and doctors who spend endless hours ensuring the Girlz are well taken care of. The journey to Australia in July of 2023 is a costly endeavor and it is the intention of the Reggae Girlz Rise Up fundraiser to allow both staff and players to focus on the competition by helping to raise additional funds to cover some of the incidental expenses incurred on this incredible adventure Down Under. It really does take a village!
All Jamaicans should be proud of the undying effort from the players and support staff that continue to make Jamaica proud. Watch the Reggae Girlz in the group stages as they take on France on July 23, Panama on July 29 and Brazil on August 2.
